The Patek Philippe ref. 1518 is a rare pink gold manual winding wristwatch. This watch, ‘The Mustad Clarin’s’ is a unique piece, 1st series, made upon request in 1944. Introduced in 1941, it is historically significant as it was the world’s first serially produced perpetual calendar chronograph wristwatch. This watch was specially made with an attached bracelet and a pink dial with a French calendar. The reference 1518 served as the predecessor to another iconic Patek Philippe watch, the reference 2499, which was introduced in 1951. It’s rare that timepieces of such importance appear on the market.
The Patek Philippe ref. 1518 will be on sale 5 November 2023 as part of the Geneva Important Watches sale.
