Celebrating culinary excellence with Cayman Cookout

Cayman Cookout is a star-studded culinary extravaganza that has been the driving force in enabling the Cayman Islands to rightly call itself The Culinary Capital of the Caribbean. Hosted by legendary Michelin-starred Chef Eric Ripert at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, this epicurean fantasy festival is now celebrating its 15th anniversary and comes to life once more from 10 to 15 January, 2024.

Cayman Cookout: An incredible culinary experience

A dream come true for foodies, Cayman Cookout enables guests to immerse themselves in some incredible culinary experiences alongside their food heroes. Where else in the world can you rub shoulders with globally-recognised chefs, such as during a conversation with Chef Eric Ripert, a deep sea fishing adventure with the ever-popular Chef Emeril Lagasse, a discussion on the pinnacle of Burgundy with the great Domaine Leflaive and Romanée-Conti, or an hilarious chat and paella demonstration with chef, philanthropist and all-round superstar José Andrés?

Cayman Cookout sits at the pinnacle of gastronomic festivals because of this unique access to culinary stars, all set against the backdrop of one of the most beautiful locations in the world – the stunning shores of the Cayman Islands. Acclaimed as one of the best beaches in the world, Seven Mile Beach, on which The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman sits, offers guests the perfect vacation location in which to unwind and relax, all while enjoying spirited culinary experiences over the six-day period.

A collection of memorable experiences

Guests can join a whole array of cooking demonstrations, through such delights as discovering the joy of Greek cuisine with Chef Pano Karatassos, learning about how food brings us together with Chef Andrew Zimmern, and the traditions and flavours of Turkish cuisine with Chef Okan Kizilbayir, all on this tantalising itinerary. Those who love their wine and spirits can participate in very special demonstrations on, among many others, acclaimed Provence winery Mirabeau, Oregon’s Willamette Valley with Jessica Endsworth, the brilliant Brunello di Montalcino and exotic cocktails of the Tropics with Bridget Albert. Then, among a plethora of incredible experiences, there is the brilliant beach bash at Grand Cayman’s hidden gem, the delightful Rum Point, a beautiful Sunset Sail with Chef Eric Ripert and Marie Christine Osselin presented by Moët & Chandon, a magnificent chance to explore Cayman’s amazing sister island of Cayman Brac via an ‘elevated’ lunch experience presented by Clase Azul Mexico and Le Soleil D’Or, and a once-in-a-lifetime ‘Licence to Thrill’ culinary journey to GoldenEye with Chef Eric Ripert and Craggy Range.

Magnificent and opulent dinners end each day of culinary fun, with a star-studded welcome dinner held at the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman ballroom and a delicious South American dinner at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman’s lovely Saint June with Terrazas Wines, among others, all culminating in what is billed as an unparalleled gathering of culinary luminaries, the Crystal Anniversary dinner, a multi-course experience created by the headlining talent of Cayman Cookout, hosted at the iconic Blue by Eric Ripert.

As this is Cayman’s Cookout’s 15th year, they are celebrating in grand style with a musical addition to the culinary offerings, a unique Backyard Concert with the fabulous rock group, the Goo Goo Dolls. Promising to be an intimate backyard concert under a canopy of stars, the concert will help remind guests how music and food bring everyone together. It should be a night to remember.

Local talent is showcased at the ever-popular Bon Vivant Moët & Chandon Chef Competition Brunch, a lively affair that supports the local efforts of Young Chef Young Waiter competition, a global organisation which promotes hospitality as a career of choice, a profession for young and aspiring talent.

This incredible week of gastronomic fun is royally rounded off by an enthusiastic game of Petanque with Chef Eric Ripert, Chef José Andrés and friends, all while enjoying the delights of Domaine Ott Rosé, a true celebration of fun and camaraderie, which is what the Cayman Cookout is all about.
